Owner and ISA Certified Arborist Kai Madsen brings years of experience from some of the region's largest tree companies, and a clear-eyed vision of what tree care can look like when knowledge and integrity lead every job.

Kai Madsen began his career in tree care after an avid rock climbing background led him to the industry in 2018. Building strong technical skills and a service-driven ethos through contract work, he founded Mad Sons Tree Service in 2022 and earned his ISA Certified Arborist credential that same year.

Kai’s dedication to leadership and outdoor stewardship traces back to the Boy Scouts of America, where he earned the Eagle Scout award—an experience that shaped his commitment to responsibility, safety, and community service. He applies practical, science-based solutions to the complex ecosystems of our urban forests, guiding clients through tree health assessments, risk mitigation, and technical removals. Kai personally ensures clear communication, rigorous safety, and workmanship rooted in integrity and professionalism.

When he’s not caring for trees, Kai spends the off-season skiing, exploring the outdoors with his dog, or still tackling the occasional rock climb.
